Farm stays and glamping don't have a great record on accessibility — too many beautiful places quietly assume everyone can manage a ladder, a field and a composting loo. When we converted The Dairy, we wanted to build the opposite: a genuinely lovely space that works for guests with mobility challenges, not a compromise.

Designed accessible from the start

The Dairy is entirely on the ground floor — once the farm's dairy, now a calm, light room with exposed beams, limewashed cob walls and a king-sized bed flanked by the original milk churns as bedside tables. The spacious wet-room-style shower room is reached through a sliding oak barn door, with no tricky thresholds, and wheelchair ramps are available for access. Outside your door there's a seating area in the old courtyard.

Room for the people around you

The Dairy connects directly to The Shippon and The Yard, which makes it easy for family or carers to stay next door while everyone keeps their own space. Booked together, the three barns work beautifully for a mixed group.

The rest of the farm

Guests have use of the log-fired hot tubs and barrel sauna (bookable for private sessions), farm walks with seating spread across the grounds, free parking close by and an EV charger. Breakfast baskets can be added when you book. And this is still a working farm — sheep, ponies, chickens and all — so there's plenty of life to watch from the courtyard even on a slow day.
