A panoramic barrel sauna, log-fired hot tubs and a sky full of stars — how rest actually happens on the farm.
Wellness at Borough Farm isn't a treatment menu. It's a barrel sauna with a window onto the fields, a hot tub you fire yourself, and the particular quiet that arrives once the light goes and the stars come out. Here's what to expect.
Our panoramic barrel sauna looks out over the fields and is bookable for private sessions at £20, so it's just your group inside. Book with Julia, ideally before you arrive — sessions are first come, first served. Bring water, take it slowly, and step out into the cool Devon air between rounds.
Each of the tubs is heated the old way, with a fire rather than a switch. There's something worth doing about tending it yourself as the evening settles — and then lying back in the warm water while the sky changes colour. Great Links, the yurt, has its own private tub up on the hill; guests in the barns can book private sessions in the farm's hot tub for £40.
This is a genuinely dark corner of Devon, and on a clear night the stars are remarkable. Every stay keeps a star chart, and the fire pit takes care of the rest. No app, no schedule — just the evening stretching out.
Sauna and hot-tub sessions are gentle by nature, but do check in with us if anyone is pregnant or managing a health condition. Both are for over-16s, and please don't use either after drinking. We'd rather you rested well.
