There's a particular kind of trip that group chats dream up and never quite land: everyone in one place, nobody on an airbed in the living room, and a big table for dinner. Whole-farm hire at Borough Farm is built for exactly that.

How it works

Take the farm's spaces together and you have room for up to 10 adults and 2 children — plus a couple of dogs. Couples get their own front doors: The Yard and The Granary, the barn suites The Shippon and The Dairy (which is accessible, with a wet room and ramps available), and Great Links, the yurt in its own paddock for whoever calls it first.

The gathering room

The Loft is what makes the whole thing work: a first-floor barn space with a glazed apex and skylights, big enough for the whole party to eat together, celebrate a birthday, run a yoga session or just colonise for board games when the weather turns. It's the dining room and meeting place for the duration of your stay.

Evenings in the courtyard

The log-fired pizza oven, the fire pits, the barrel sauna and the hot tubs do the heavy lifting. Dartmoor's dark skies do the rest. Days can be as organised (walks, wild swimming, the coast) or as unorganised as your group can agree on.

Retreats and gatherings
